The Jacksonville rodeo
continues through Saturday
night. This is the first
time in a long time they've
had a specialty act. His
name is Austin Anderson and
he is a trick rider from
East Texas.
He was a cowboy from
birth. "I wanted to be a
stunt man. I was always
making up new ways to crash
off the horses," said
Austin, "I grew up in it. My
family has been providing
horse equine entertainment
at rodeos, state fairs,
circus, and wild west shows.
Pretty much any kind of
entertainment my family has
done. I grew up in it."
In the early 90's he had
his big break.
"I doubled Kyle Chandler
and Cliff D. Young. I was
hooked. He and his horses
have performed from coast to
coast. I've probably done
about 20 films and about a
dozen commercials," said
Austin.
He says this rodeo is a
kind of homecoming.
"It's kind of like a
hometown rodeo for me," said
Austin.
Like anything else
practice makes perfect.
"The roman riding where I
stand on two horses I had
been doing that since I was
11 or 12," said Austin.
You can catch Austin's
act Thursday night at 8 PM
at the Jacksonville rodeo.
Friday night rain or shine
Blake Shelton is performing
and Saturday night is the
Randy Rodgers Band.
For tickets you can go to
any Cavender's location, the
ticket office or you can
purchase tickets at the
gate.
