When was Cowtown Coliseum built?

The Cowtown Coliseum broke ground in 1907 and was completed in 1908 after only 88 working days, at a cost of $250,000. Looking at the size of the Coliseum in person, you will see the massive architectural undertaking that occurred in that short a time frame.

What is a rodeo? What's the PBR Stockyards Showcase? What's Ultimate Bullfighters?

Rodeo is a competitive sport involving a series of riding and roping contests derived from the working skills of the American cowboy. It is usually broken down into two categories: timed events and rough stock events. The rodeo is fun and exciting for fans and athletes!

The Stockyards Championship Rodeo is held in the historic Cowtown Coliseum, home of the world’s first indoor rodeo. Our rodeo features timed events such as tie-down roping, breakaway roping, team roping and barrel racing. We also offer the excitement of rough stock events like bull riding, bronc riding, bareback and ranch saddle bronc riding.

We are the world’s only year-round rodeo. Rodeos are held every Friday and Saturday night.

Year- round event every THURSDAY night! PBR STOCKYARDS SHOWCASE

PBR (Professional bull riding) has rapidly transformed one of the fastest-growing sports in America into a worldwide phenomenon. Capitalizing on the popularity of bull riding around the world, and the growing appeal of cowboy values, the PBR has attracted many homegrown and international athletes who aspire to compete in the world’s elite bull riding competition.

We have added a new show that occurs SUNDAYS! ULTIMATE BULLFIGHTERS

Ultimate Bull Fighting is an adrenaline-fueled, high-intensity rodeo sport that showcases the agility and daring of skilled athletes. Unlike traditional bullfighting, where the goal is to avoid the bull's horns, freestyle bullfighting emphasizes close quarters maneuvering and choreographed evasion. Competitors showcase their athleticism by performing acrobatic leaps, spins, and rapid changes in direction, all while evading the bull's charges. It's a thrilling spectacle that requires a unique blend of courage, agility, and quick thinking, as the bullfighter aims to outwit the bull in the arena.
